Why Settler-Colonial States All Gravitate Towards Genocide
Settler-colonies are basically inherently incapable of living alongside the people that they have invaded.
It takes a huge amount of atrocities and catastrophic violence to drive people from their homes. And once you have done that, you have so much to expect and fear in terms of righteous reprisal. So then you need to keep going in perpetuating even more atrocities to crush any resistance that there might be left, that might otherwise grow and fester into a feasible force that can fight back and take any land back. So as long as there are any living people who don't belong to the settler-colony and won't perpetuate it, they are an entire threat to every single lie and concealments of acts of violence that the settler-colony perpetuates.
If Israel had remained at occupying, say, half of Palestine, for example, after countless brutal massacres and invasions, and let the Palestinians live in the other half, eventually it has to fear Palestinians coming back in force and striking back and re-taking their land. So it aims to utterly crush any and all living remaining Palestinians with the most punitive and demeaning violence. This is basically the same in the U.S., Canada, Australia, South Africa (Occupied Azania), Latin American states, more. The few ones who survive and their descendants are forced into submission into the settler-colony as the lowest tier "citizens", if you could even call it that – sometimes it is really personas-non-grata, or nobodies.
On The Electronic Intifada and more, many stories of Gazans and Palestinians illustrate how Israel has not only violently snatched their dreams and loved ones, but forced them into the worst of conditions, facing violent death through bombs, or facing cruel death from starvation or facing lack of medical care and amenities and living in tents.

It is the cruelest suffering that the West is so well-known for, all around the world.
This is actually what the West is. This is the English in Oceania and North America and India; this is the French in Indochina; this is the Spanish and Portuguese in Central and South America; this is Germany and Belgium in Africa; this is the Netherlands in the Pacific; and more. This is the West in the world.
The West has again lurched from atrocity to atrocity in its latest target, the Middle East – from murders to torture in Abu Ghraib to drone killings, from assassinations like that of an Iranian general to massacres to punitive war against Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria & Yemen; from war crimes by Australians in Afghanistan and by Americans in Iraq to freezing half of Afghanistan's bank assets while 90%+ Afghans don't have enough to eat; from theft of billions in oil in Syria and Iraq and sanctions starving Iraqis – culminating in this latest genocide on Gaza and Palestine after countless previous atrocities against Palestinians through Israeli wars and occupation.
Because we didn't stop any of those previous atrocities, because we let them continue, we also let this continue.
Israel is a Western colony – Westerners go to live there and drive out and murder Palestinians. It is also useful to the West as a power projector alongside other pawns because the West is always waging war there since the Middle East is full of resources that the West wants to plunder.
One of the most chilling aspects is how easily it seems that the genocide just grinds on. The Western war machine is so well-oiled that the machine just continues on without the citizens inside the West having to lift so much as a single finger to agree to this.
Inside the Western colonies, people work for the comfort of the elites, again in such a well-oiled system. There's so little friction, so little in protest of all that. We have swallowed the sweet syrup of the elites, so no one is too bothered by anyone having too much while everybody else is deprived, so the elites never lose any power and keep maintaining it, whether it's through their vast sums of money or corporate and social hierarchies which all ultimately serve them.
We happily dream of serving the elites in a chosen profession or becoming one ourselves. We relinquish our power and agency and independence and freedom to our superiors – colonial states which through plunder and bloodshed bring us back some fad comforts in return, like luscious chocolate bars and wondrous smartphones and sleek cars. Whether it's from cacao in Latin America that Westerners would never tend to themselves en masse, mines in Africa that Westerners would never enter en masse, oil in the Middle East that Westerners don't have to dig up en masse, or acres of farmland in Australia that Westerners would never otherwise own en masse – Westerners do have a symbiotic relationship with their armies and massacrers and predatory businessmen when they reap the fruits of the plundered world.
These comforts have no real weight anyway in terms of the freedom that they have relinquished. Surrendering all your agency and rights to the state for a measly ballot paper to pick which plucky politicians will be servicing those in power is not freedom. We shouldn't have these super power structures where people can make decisions on behalf of masses of hundreds of thousands of people whom they have never talked to or cared to listen to.
All of this is like… I don't know – like having a whole river taken from you, where you used to fish the freshest and freest of fish, and being given a tiny tin of pungent canned fish instead and being murdered if you try to take the river back. The plucky businessmen make huge sums out of luring tourists onto the river and they all eventually pollute it until nothing can live in there anymore. I mean it's not that far off – that's kind of what the West is to the world. They all gravitate towards genocide because they know that we would fight back against every atrocity they have inflicted upon us.
But anyway regardless, to fight a well-oiled war machine, we also need to have extremely well-oiled apparatuses to fight back.
